See the weather before it arrives
Two live maps for the UK: where it's raining right now and where the lightning is. They open in your browser, with nothing to install.
The tools
Rain radar
Rain over the UK with a timelapse of the last two hours, plus current readings and the millimetres expected hour by hour.
Open the map →Lightning map
Strikes from the last few minutes, placed where they were recorded, with a counter of how many land in the area on screen.
Open the map →Snow map
Where it is snowing now: snow, sleet and freezing rain in their own colours, with snowfall per hour and ice risk for the next 24 hours.
Open the map →Cities with their own page
The map opens already centred on the city, with the current readings.

What a browser can't do: warn you
These pages show what's happening now, but you have to open them. The app sends a push notification about 30 minutes before a storm reaches you, and puts the same radar on your home screen.
How these pages are made
Weather data comes from Open-Meteo (CC BY 4.0), the base map from OpenStreetMap. We don't issue weather warnings: in the UK, that's the job of the Met Office.
Who's behind the project and how the tool works is on the about page; how data is handled is in the privacy policy.
